I like your first two pictures with the mask. They feel like they could be from the purge. On eating I believe you could do to make them better is to make the backgrounds more dark in order to really get the feeling of mysterious and mischievous nature out of the picture. Your second two pictures are also well done because they are so simple but explain the times that we are in. Drinking with our family and being on our computer are almost two daily activities for me so I get that. One thing that I think could make all your pictures better is a certain dress in each one and try to overemphasize the dress in the pictures with your mask.
The first two pictures remind me of American Horror Story and I like the vibe of them.I believe the mask is an interesting concept and maybe you could use the mask in all of them without them being the same. So, I think you should re-shoot the last two pics so that they go with the theme your using in the 1st two pictures.
I love how you used a mask for your photos. I wanted to do the same but couldn't find one anywhere lol. They look like they are straight out of a movie. The last two I like because they are like a snapshot into your life but I feel like there is more that you can show about yourself than being in front of a computer.
I really like the idea of using the Purge mask for this assignment. For me it kind of made me think about how during this quarantine everyone is hiding behind their mask meaning technology, and peoples real faces/ character is showing. I like the one of you drinking with your mom it shows that you're thriving and surviving this this quarantine! I think that you should try and incorporate the mask in every picture in some way it doesn't need to be on your face but have in shown differently in each picture.
David, I think that your strongest photograph is the first one. This image really tells a story, and i think that the way you have the figure centered in the grocery aisle is a very clever way of having all of the elements in the photograph lead directly toward the focal point. The lines creates by both the fridges and the shelves all lead the eye from the edges of the photograph, directly toward the center, where the figure is standing. There is also a lot of symmetry in this photograph, not only created by the aisles, but by the fact that you are holding a case of beer in both hands. In your third photograph, one thing I would work on to make it better is to focus on light/shadows more. It would be nice if we were able to better make out the expressions on the peoples' faces. Moreover, the empty space (the trees) in the composition seems unintentional and distracting. I think in the future, you could focus on using empty space to further emphasize your focal point.
I think the purge mask is a nice prop usage in these photos. For one, I work at a grocery store and it has been pretty chaotic lately. In addition, the use of any mask in public currently is very common, but it also characterizes the fear within much of the general public. I think the last photo could use the most work, perhaps a different perspective or having notebooks sprawled out would better capture the chaos that online school contributes to.
I think the first two photos are your strongest. I enjoy the second one because by using the mask you were able to bring a sense of discomfort into a space that is normally considered a safe space. (at home on your couch) The colors and high contrast also contribute to the mood of the photo. I would consider reshooting the last photo. Although the photo itself is very clear, I would consider what is included in your composition. There seems to be many random things around you on the desk. Consider what should be visible and what the items tell the viewer about you.
the second image of the purge mask is very successful, I think the lighting is very dramatic and is perfect for the image. I think these have the most potential for this project and maybe even incorporating more of your normal life with the mask.
I honestly love the kind of documentary feel of these images, especially the last one. I don't know, it just feels very real and kind of intimate, even though I know you're touching on the topic of anonymity here. If I had to pick one image to reshoot, I'd say reshoot the third image. I feel like you can choose a more interesting angle for that one.
